Graveside Tales is Open for Submissions
What is Graveside Tales? Well, why not hear it from them?
Graveside Tales was started in March 2007 by Dale L. Murphy to publish works in the horror and dark fantasy genre. We are a small press that prides itself in bringing you the very best in horror and dark fantasy books at fair and reasonable prices. Our intention is to bring readers books that are not only suspenseful, but terrifying. All of our books will be based on two key elements: dark atmosphere and chilling character driven plots. We are looking to make an impact in the industry by working with some of the leading authors in the business today as well as new writers that have yet to be discovered. If you are new writer looking to break into the industry or someone who has a few books under their belt, please take a look at our submission guidelines and send us your very best work.
It's rare that you see just open calls for submissions these days. At the Authors Speak we've made it a mission to inform our writers as to when and where you can submit your work to. So, here it is. Graveside Tales is open for submissions (but only until November 30, 2010):
OPEN TO SUBMISSIONS SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 – NOVEMBER 30, 2010
What we want:
Graveside Tales seeks chilling, character-driven stories of the Supernatural, particularly those set in the Lycanthrope universe. Psychological suspense, “killers on the loose”, and cross-genre blends (Paranormal Romance or dark fiction containing SciFi, Historical and/or Fantasy elements) are welcome provided the subject matter is original and the focus remains on horror. Gore, sex, or controversial content is okay as long as its inclusion is essential to the story and not incorporated solely for shock value.
We will also consider publishing backlisted material. If you are an author who has a backlisted titles you would like to see republished, please query us at email@example.com with "Backlist" and the title of the book in the subject line.
You can find out more about Graveside Tales and their full and complete submission guidelines by visiting them on the web: http://gravesidetales.com/.
Today is the last day you can register for that killer LegumeMan back catalogue. If you have no idea what I'm talkin' about, visit us at facebook and find out. Tomorrow morning we'll announce the winners of the much coveted prize.
Tomorrow we'll have the much anticipated interview with David Wellington, author of "13 Bullets" and "Monster Island". David's taking the horror scene by storm as of late, and the interview is one of the most fun we've had.
See you tomorrow.
