The Authors Speak: Steve Lowe

To look at that picture, one might suspect Steve Lowe to be the kind of bestselling author that sits on the verge of absolute douchery (think Richad Castle without the good-guy demeanor).  It's funny, I remember when I first saw this picture, Steve made a quip referencing the Dos Equis commercials and made me laugh out loud.  See, that's the kind of writer Steve Lowe is.  He's the writer you wish you could be.  Or, at least you wish you could bottle up some of the kid's moxy and drive and sell it on the black market.

Eraserhead Press ended 2009 with the release of 4 books.  These were the first four books under the NBAS imprint (the New Bizarro Authors Series).  Every year, it was said, Eraserhead would release another four.  Trouble with that is, when there's talent pouring in it's hard to limit the selection process.  This time around, there were 7.  In November, the week before BizarroCon, author David W. Barbee and I did a big unveiling of these magnificent seven, of which Steve Lowe's Muscle Memory was a part of.

As you've no doubt gathered, these books harness some pure, unconcentrated talent.  I mean, we've chatted with Eric Hendrixson about his book Bucket of Face, which reads like the aftermath of a punchline.  We talked objectophilia with Kirk Jones, author of Uncle Sam's Carnival of Copulating Inanimals.  And, this weekend we will chat with the insanely talented Steve Lowe, author of Muscle Memory and Wolves Dressed as Men (which can both be ordered by clicking the links below).  The interview, as always, will be at www.blogtalkradio.com/theauthorsspeakcom.

LISTEN...as you hear Steve Lowe unveil his darkest secrets and how they influenced his bizarro book, Musicle Memory.

FEEL...the icky, as Steve discusses what ails him, and why he sacrifices a goat before every writing session.

CRY...as you experience the purest agape love Steve harbors for master-editor and writer Kevin Donihe.

WITNESS...the grilling of one of the talented writers that you should be reading.

Join us Saturday, 4/16 at 12pm.

Until then, keep reading.
